To carry out its mission and vision, IAGC has divided the globe into three separate regions, and it manages its affairs through Chapters which cover each region. These Chapters are: Americas, Asia / Pacific, and Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME). Each Chapter is governed by a chairman, who comes from a core member company. Some issues or topics are more global in nature, spanning more than one Chapter. As these global issues often benefit from coordination across the Chapters and from the attention of the global business managers, IAGC also works through a number of Global Committees. Accidents and fatalities experienced globally during air operations in support of the oil and gas industry show few signs of diminishing and the long-term trend has remained stubbornly constant. At its February 2005 meeting in Anaheim, the OGP Aviation Sub Committee (ASC) set a long-term goal of reducing the risks to oil and gas industry personnel transported by air. A reduction in individual air passenger risks of more than 80% from that currently experienced was envisaged, with a target of achieving levels of passenger safety more in line with global airlines.

The OGP with contribution from IAGC has developed Recommended Practices for the role of contracted passenger transportation in support of the oil and gas industry. The Recommended Practices are memorialized in OGP 410.

There are growing international concerns over the effects of E&P sounds on marine life, particularly sounds from seismic surveys. And while cetaceans, fish and sea turtles get the most attention, concerns extend much more widely. In response, governments are increasingly requiring measures to mitigate potential harm to marine life. These measures can significantly affect our industrys operations and their cost, and they increasingly restrict the E&P industry’s ability to access areas for oil and gas exploration and production. Together with the E&P industry, IAGC continues to be engaged in the public policy discussions on this issue. And along with a limited number of visionary E&P companies, we continue to invest in and provide technical support for and oversight of scientific research that is filling the gaps in knowledge and eliminating uncertainty about the possible effects of E&P sound on marine life.
