IAGC is an Endorsing Organization for 2010 SPE-HSE Conference
The SPE International Conference on Health, Safety & Environment in Oil and Gas exploration and Production will be held 12–14 April 2010 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As with the 2008 conference held in Nice, France, IAGC is once again an Endorsing Organization of this event.
“This conference has been the E&P industry’s premier event focusing on challenges and progress towards health, safety, environment, social responsibility, and HSE management excellence. The event brings together experts from all over the world to share best practices, technological advances, new ideas, and innovative applications to enhance HSE performance. It also provides a neutral forum where contrasting views and concerns from a variety of stakeholders can be explored. The theme for the 2010 conference is “Facing New Challenges With Best Practices and Innovative Thinking.” This theme reflects the innovation and sharing of best practices that are imperative in the current global climate to maximize our HSE programs and help achieve the needs of our shareholders and stakeholders.”
The conference provides a unique opportunity for HSSE professionals – including those from the geophysical industry – to share experiences with others and build a fruitful dialogue with stakeholders. The SPE has issued a “Call for Papers” with proposal submissions due 18 May 2009. The SPE HSE conference will offer technical sessions on a wide range of topics related to health, safety, and security as well as include sessions on sound & marine life, environmental monitoring and reporting, and environmental impact assessment. IAGC President Chip Gill is participating on the Conference Executive Committee. IAGC would like to encourage members to submit papers and participate in this conference to help ensure geophysical industry HSE & Security issues, learnings and experiences are well represented at this important global industry conference.
